Find Heard County Civil Dockets

Start your Heard County civil docket search by naming the court that holds the file. A civil docket follows a noncriminal case from the first complaint or petition through service, answers, motions, settings, orders, and judgment. But general civil and domestic matters, limited claims, and probate files sit with different offices. Georgia offers no single public search that covers them all. A practical Heard County civil court docket search pairs the online provider with a direct call to the clerk, which matters most when you need a document image, a current hearing date, a plain copy, or a certified order.

Heard County Civil Docket Searches

General civil and domestic cases in Superior Court begin at the Georgia Courts E-Access directory. The directory lists Heard Superior. It also points to PeachCourt. You will need an account. The registration page says a non-attorney may create a free one. Even then, search results and document images vary by case. The clerk keeps the official file, so a court-first workflow works best.

  1. Decide whether the matter is Superior, Magistrate, Probate, municipal, or federal.
  2. For Superior civil matters, follow E-Access to PeachCourt and search with an exact party name or known case number.
  3. Confirm the court and case caption, then review filings, motions, settings, orders, and disposition lines.
  4. For Magistrate or Probate matters, contact that court because no public unified Heard search was found.
  5. Ask the correct clerk for a plain or certified document when a docket summary is not enough.

A case number alone may not reveal which Heard County court owns the file. Name the filing court whenever you ask for help.

Heard Civil Dockets Use PeachCourt

Heard County Superior Court handles the general civil and domestic relations docket. The state's e-file chart lists Heard Superior as mandatory on PeachCourt. Mandatory e-filing does not mean every document is freely visible, though. Provider access, clerk custody, and certified records are separate layers. Tammy Teal's Superior Clerk office staffs an in-person counter at 215 East Court Square, Franklin, P.O. Box 40. Phone is (706) 675-3301, fax is (706) 675-6138, and an email contact is listed. Hours run Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It closes noon to 1:00 p.m. Turn to the clerk after a failed search, for an older file, or for authentication. Ask whether a public terminal exists; the office does not advertise one.

Civil Dockets: What They Show

The official Georgia General Civil and Domestic Relations Case Filing Information Form shows what intake collects. A Heard County civil docket may later add service, answers, motions, orders, settings, judgments, appeals, and transfers. It will not show every intake field or every filed image.

Case numberThe court-assigned identifier. A generic state example is 2019-CV-012345, not a confirmed Heard format.
PartiesPlaintiff and defendant names and roles shown in the caption.
FilingComplaint, petition, answer, service, exhibit, or later pleading entry.
Motion and orderA request made to the judge and the court's ruling, which may be separate entries.
SettingHearing date, time, type, reset, or continuance.
JudgmentFinal adjudication, dismissal, default, or other closing order.

A docket line is a summary, like an index. To read the filed pleading or signed order, you may need a second document-access step.

Heard Magistrate Civil Dockets Stay Separate

Small civil claims in Heard County go to Magistrate Court. That court covers disputes up to $15,000. It also takes a few other limited case types. For filings and payments, its official county page points to eFileGeorgia. It lists the clerk's number, (706) 675-3002. What the court does not offer is an online case search. No public docket URL exists for Heard Magistrate. So a case that turns up empty elsewhere may still sit in a paper file or a scanned record at the courthouse.

A June 2026 clerk-position notice spells out what that office actually holds. It keeps physical and scanned files in the Magistrate Management System. It also holds calendars, notices, subpoenas, appeals, transfers, and certified copies.

That notice points to direct counter or phone follow-up when the online payment route cannot supply a case history. Call about current staffing first. The notice announced a clerk application period.

What Cases Fill the Civil Docket

Which docket fits depends on the claim and the court's jurisdiction. Superior Court takes general civil and domestic relations matters. Magistrate Court covers limited claims. It also takes the categories named on its fee sheet. Probate Court keeps estate, will, guardianship, conservatorship, and year's-support files. Municipal courts are not a general county civil docket.

Heard Civil Docket Fees in 2025

The official Magistrate fee schedule took effect June 11, 2025. It governs that court only, not Superior, Probate, or a municipal office. Confirm it is still current before filing or buying a copy.

ItemPublished amount
Statement of claim, one defendant$105
Dispossessory$105
Garnishment or trover$105
F.I.F.A.$29 in two checks: $4 Magistrate and $25 Superior
Copies$0.50 per page
Certified copy or order$14
Subpoena$0
Extra defendant or sheriff re-service$50

The sheet says check or money order only, no cash or card. It lists P.O. Box 395, while the Magistrate page lists P.O. Box 10. Call before mailing; the two official sources conflict.

Heard Civil Docket Filing Terms

Magistrate labels describe procedures, not just subject areas. Knowing their meaning helps you ask for the correct civil docket or order.

F.I.F.A.
A judgment-related writ listed with split payments to Magistrate and Superior. It can create a cross-office record trail.
Trover
A listed Magistrate action involving recovery of personal property.
Garnishment
A post-judgment process that generates its own filings and entries.
Dispossessory
The court's named possession proceeding, listed as eviction on the fee sheet.
Open default
A listed civil stage with a local filing amount, not automatic proof of a final judgment.

A judgment, F.I.F.A., appeal, or transfer can push later documents into another office. Ask the clerk to cross-reference the linked file rather than stopping at the first docket.

Hearings on the Civil Docket

A setting entry tells when the court expects an event. It is not the result. A notice of setting may be followed by a continuance, reset, hearing-held entry, signed order, or later judgment. Scheduling orders and motion calendars can create several dates in one Heard County civil case. Verify any near-term date with the court that owns the case. Superior answers at (706) 675-3301, Magistrate at (706) 675-3002, and Probate at (706) 675-3353. No unified Heard calendar search exists. PeachCourt may show some Superior settings after login, but not every calendar. A defined date-range request to the clerk beats asking for all court dates. After a reset, trust the latest signed notice or clerk confirmation. The Heard County Court Schedule gives the fuller calendar route.

Heard Civil Docket Copy Types

Copies come in two basic kinds. A plain copy is a simple reproduction of the filing. A certified copy carries the clerk's authentication. Some receiving offices will only accept that version. The Magistrate schedule lists local rates for each. Heard Superior and Probate post no copy prices. Don't carry the Magistrate figure into another office.

When you request a civil document, spell out the court. Give the case number if known, plus the party or caption. Name the document itself, its rough date, and whether you want plain or certified. Ask about search, redaction, mailing, and certification fees, and confirm what payment the office accepts. Superior publishes mail, fax, and email routes. Magistrate and Probate each list their own contacts. Heard County offers no generic copy-request form, so contact the office directly.

Best request: Ask for a named complaint, order, judgment, or date-bounded docket instead of an undefined complete search.

Who Can See Civil Dockets

Uniform Superior Court Rule 21 sets the default: civil dockets are open. It also spells out how access gets limited. Limiting access takes a hearing or other authorized process. The order must state its scope, nature, duration, and reason. Protected identifiers can be masked. A civil filing may still show public docket data, even while one document or field stays restricted.

Georgia access framework:

O.C.G.A. §§50-18-70 and 50-18-71 guidance supports targeted requests and a general three-business-day response framework when records are available.

O.C.G.A. §50-18-72 and court orders preserve exemptions, confidential material, and protected identifiers.

A request cannot override a seal or other lawful restriction.

Send your request to the court custodian first. Ask for a fee estimate, an explanation of any redactions, and a timetable for the docket materials. State guidance permits reasonable charges. The first quarter hour carries no labor charge, though a court's own copy schedule may control its records.

Heard Magistrate Civil Docket Access

The county Magistrate page is the local hub.

Heard County civil docket Magistrate Court access page

That page is not a full docket database. The Superior Clerk page, meanwhile, identifies the separate general civil custodian, and its eFileGeorgia payment link covers fees rather than case lookup.

When PeachCourt leaves a Superior court docket question unanswered, the clerk's office is the fallback. Call it for authenticated orders, copies of filings, and any case lookup the portal cannot resolve.
